I have been having trouble with my 4l60E trans in my 1994 Z28. It has a rebuilt tranny from a 1995 Z28, I drove the car to the local transmission repair shop and he said that a 1995 4l60E will not work in a 94'z28.
Do to PWM(Pulse-Width Modulation Torque Converter Clutch).
The problem that i have been having is it wont shift into 2nd or overdrive. I have to let off of the gas to get it to shift into 3rd.
And would there be any way to salve this? I'm in the process of taking tranny out would like to know before i get it out....
Could the 1995 4l60E in my 1994 Z28 be what is causeing this problem and is there any fix for the problem?

Im not a big tranny guy, But I think that is a little off if the swap was done completely. Check with another tranny shop, dont tell them what the other guy said, and see what they say. Thatll make sure your getting an honest answer.

It only has a 150 miles on a rebuild. I'm thinking they dident replace one of the bands and it broke. One of them controls 2nd and fourth.

IMO, i think you got a bad transmission. The way the TCC works has no influence on how the transmission shifts. The transmission will still work with a burned out TCC.

well, i'm in the process of taking tranny out and hopefully i'll have it out by noon tomarrow. So i can take to the tranny shop. Its probably going to the band for 2nd and 4th gear. Its not fun taking one of these trannys out thats for sure.
