OK I am looking for someone who has or knows someone who has an ORIGINAL 69 camaro with 396/325 hp automatic trans. Please tell me what carb part number is on it. Quadra jet. Thank you

I have a 7029200 Rochester Q-Jet on mine. And that is for 1969 - 396 and 427 with automatic trans. 7029201 is for manual trans.

I double checked my casting # reference book, and that 7029200 as stated by Ircyklops is the one you should have.

The one I have is put out by Cars & Parts Magazine, "Catalog of Chevy V-8 Engine Casting Numbers 1955-93 (published in 1994). And according to them they are "The Voice of the Collector Car Hobby Since 1957", so who am I to argue? Your carb is the only one referenced for the 396, 325 h.p. auto. So, tell that other guy to shut his pie-hole!

I just ran across this OEM application catalog on-line. It seems to agree with your debate partner...other references seem to contradict each other

These sources mistakenly list the 7029204 carb as a 325/350 h.p. application. The 7029204 is for the 350 h.p. and the 7029200 is for the 325 h.p. as stated earlier. Here's yet another source to support the fact:

Just goes to show that sometimes the more someone looks for facts, the more likely it is to find errors and omissions as well.

My source says 204 as well.  It is for the rochester quad 325-350hp with auto

Here is the book I checked:

TAG...you're it!! We could do this all day.
Has anybody else been noticing as I have, that the reference materials and enthusiast websites that are supposed to be the authority on info are saying that the 7029200 is the right one, whereas the references listed that are ones that SELL the carbs are saying the 7029204 is the right one? I find that a little interesting.

Touche.  Too bad GM never kept any stuff.  I agree - there is alot of differing info out there.
I like the link you put up from the manufacturer.  I would be inclined to think they are the aproving authority in this case.
