They are OK cars, build quality is not that great, they rusted alot and suck in snow (but all F-bodies suck in snow). If it were me I would look at a 3rd Gen. They can be picked up cheap enough and if you get a TPI motor they have a ton of torque. Just keep your eyes peeled for a decent one.

faily easy, but the price is usualy a little bit higher than a 3rd gen. 79-81 are the nicest years especially, when they are well maintained

They are easy to get, but why on earth do you want to deal with a rusty car?

i wouldnt care about rust cuz i work at a body shop and my best friend is a mechanic so none of that would matter

I see, well good luck with it. Those cars are pretty easy to find, just try to find the best one you can afford.

i got an 81 and I like it a lot. the only rust I hade was in the floors which was easy enough to fix. its my first car and I love it. I bought it for 800 and it was good except for the floors and brakes. v6 though. I like the 2nd gens better than the thirds. keep in mind that I live in rochester NY and there is tons of snow and crapy conditions for rust to form. My car held out ok though. Good luck and enjoy.

I been in a ton of the them, the Z28's actually handle pretty well. As for racing them goes, stock they are slow, I mean like 15's in the 1/4, bu the nice thing is if you get a 350 powered car there are a ton of easy upgrades you can do, and best of all parts are realtivy cheap.

They came with either a 350 or a 305, you would to run the VIN to know what the car came with originally, however alot of those cars will be on their 2nd,3rd,or even 4th motor. Heck my 01 is on motor #2 already

Late 70's camaros are not know for there performance. Even the 350 in 79 made less than 200 hp stock.

Id buy his 79 since it is real nice. it has a L88 hood and nice paint, probubly a 350 w/ exhaust. check it out. it is fairly inexpensive and you wont have to do much for it. Enjoy
