Should removing a cherry-bomb be done by a pro at a mechanic's, or could an amatur do it? If an amatur can, how?

by cherry bomb ill assume you mean glass pack type mufflers??  ya you can remove them yourself but then what do you do??  unless you have a welder and some pipe and a bender your gonna end up with a cobbled up mess. spend the dollars to have it done once and right. pick your favorite muffler and bring them with you as this will save a few bucks( i can still get thrush brand turbo mufflers for less than 20 bucks)  sound good and rumbley.  ya this costs $ but the results will be far superior to some backyard butchery that leak and sound like ****.   kurt
