well i have a 1984 z28 h.o. camaro and it has the l69 engine. i got from my uncle for free because it threw the timing chain and need new pushrods, ect..., so dad and i rebuilt the engine and got it tuned up pretty good. then about a year later (april 2008) i had a custom interior put in, now there is nothing really that needs to be done....... until about a week after we got it, it started having starting issues no electricity for example, no dome light or headlights so we then put in a new battery and starter, that seem to fix the problem. then maybe another week or two later it starts bogging down when its cold and wont idle until its warm about 150 degrees. but also when i cruise at about 1250 rpm @35 mph (even when warm) sometimes it will shift to overdrive and then back down continuously. so after that the local mechanic said a new computer should fix it but it didnt help at all, exept my mixture solenoid dosent cycle all the time now like it used to. also just the other night the choke light came on when the engine was warm, for no reason. so it took the air cleaner of to see if it was closed but the choke was wide open. any feed back or any thoughts i will greatly apreciate. the mechanic is having trouble pin point why it is bogging down so i hope u guys can.

Thanks,
Patrick

P.S. also i couldn't get the fan to turn on during engine breaking about a year ago so we wired it to run all the time.

First off don't go into full panic mode and post all over. One post is plenty in this forum. People will see it.

Second
Check the charging system. A good mechanic would know that on older carbed cars the choke runs off the alternator so it will only get power while its running. A problem in the charging system will cause a choke light to come on.
