i currently have a stock vented hood. any opinions on how a 3" cowl hood will work? because i was hoping on fitting an RPM air gap manifold in there, but there is not room.

Personally I wouldnt go more than 2" cowl on a third gen. They make a nice 2" with a 1" step off of it.

I like the way cowl hoods look.

Camarodude that is pretty sharp. ty for the website its got alot of nice stuff on it. it states i can get 2 inches of extra clearenance. right now, i dont even have like a quarter inch of free space above the air cleaner, and it is a very low rise manifold. do u think an rpm air gap will fit under that?

the 2 inch cowl should give you plenty of space depending on your engine size. i have the edelbrock performer series manifold on a 383 so without the cowl it wont fit. which speaking of which anyone know anywhere to get a cheap lift off. perferaly under 250 bucks. thanks

thanks a lot for the help, and Beast85, jegs and summit have cowl hoose for 249, and they are fiberglass so they r pretty light.
