Once you have registered, your phone number registration will be effective for 5 years. It will be illegal for most telemarketers to call you, and you will be able to file a complaint if a telemarketer does call you. To file a complaint, we need the date you got the call, and either the name or telephone number of the company that called you.
They will be fined by the goverment for calling your phone and if I am not mistaking they will be required to pay you a fee for calling your phone.
MAKE SURE YOU REGISTER YOUR HOME PHONE WHILE YOU ARE AT IT !!!!
When you register !! It only stays banned for 5 yrs so go ahead and register your home # again if you have already done so !!!
