Hi, i am new here. I have a 86 2.8 V6 Camaro. Its my new project car. I am workinf on it this winter.

Here are the things I have done to date:

New AC delco spark plug wires
Coolant temp sensor
Fuel Filter
Celaned TB
Coolant flush

I am slowly working on the car, but now i now i have noticed a new problem.
It takes the car about 3-4 times to start properly, and stay idle. When it does idle, and i press the gas, it stop. After a fewminutes of running however, it runs good, and i could rev etc. I dont know if it has anything to do with the cold weather??

Can someone maybe point me in the right directions to fix the problem
thanks

yea dont worry about, mine does that frequently. to solve it, just get an aftermarket coil. but its not even a big deal. happened to me until i got a 50k volt coil. nothing to worry about, just keep it at 2000 rpm until it gets warm enough to idle. dont rev higher cuz its bad for piston rings. hope i can help.

Well. today i figured out why the camaro was not starting, idleling etc. The firing order was wrong on the cap. I fixed that , adjusted the distributor, and it runs really good now, much better that before. I need to do a major tune up though, hopefully it will run good from now (fingers crossed)

As i said before the camaro is running much better than before. I am new to the camaro world, so you guys have to help me out !!

Since the car was sitting for like 2 years, i am gonna replace the following :

O2 sensor
Spark plugs
EGR valve
Cap & Rotor

I have already replaced the wires, fuel filter, air filter, cleaned the TB

What else can i do/replace to get the Camaro running smooth.

Also, this must have been asked a million times, but what are some power adders to the 2.8's
other than KN air fliter, exhaustsystem ?

thanks

you can easily put a 3.4 in there and that would help you out
