Cool, last time i did anything it was a cherry bomb dont even know if they still make those, also im thinking he may be able to run 3 inch if i drop it out in front of the tires but will only be 2.5 and 2 over the axel if its tight

Cherry bombs are most definitely still around.
If you drop it out before the wheels, it'll be louder and will flow better, due to less exhaust bends and piping. I mean think of blowing through a straw, it's easier if the straw is shorter.
Gotta love the bombs though. Be sure to post up clips when it's done, it sounds gnarly.

Will see if i can figure how to do that. Must say this is a good project to increase my patients, i like it NOW well thats not going to happen so at 43 im learning to hide some cash away for the little projects :)

Speaking literally, an '80 Z28 is far from a "little" project...
I mean, you have acres of real estate up front for motor...
Not to mention the second gen is wider than the truck i used to drive.
Post up what you come up with.

Yea next step will be the 700R4 tranny conversion i really need that OD to help the cost of a fun weekend drive. Also isnt suppose to hurt my take off at all.

A 700R4 is a good trans.
Any other mods in mind?

Well its at the shop as we speak, He said would be best to run 2.5 inch as that wouldnt cause a torque loss. Also going to drop them out past the axel ( if it fits ) and elbow them to the ground, said it should bouce the sound and make it even better. Would LIKE to this winter work on a 383 stroker for it and the new paint job. Interior wise is pretty good except i want race seats for it. OHHH and must have TUNES SOON!!!!

Well it sounds friggin AWESOME. I am almost tempted to just slap a turbo 400 in it and have FUN instead of waiting for the 700R4

Well scored on the weekend, Got a nice rebuilt an beefed up Turbo 350 never used with a 2500 stall for 450 bucks. After some research i found i dont want to run a stall as i didnt know the car wouldnt really GO untill it hit that rpm. So will sell this one and find a regular converter. Then on ebay scored a year old eldelbrock 600 with electric choke for 81.00 should be here by thursday. Now to just find someone to swap trannies.
