Getting ready to sell on of my toys and decided that I would purchase a new TV with some of the money.
Looking to spend around $2500.00 on a Flat Screen for the wall ............ woundering what are some of the opinions out there on the best buy for the buck ??
With all the new additions to TV's these days ...... woundering if anyone out there had one that could tell me about theirs or even one that a friend has that would be worth the money.

If you are going to buy a LCD get it from Sharp, they make all LCD panels, and sell lower grades to other companies, make sure to get at least a 37" if you go that way. If you are going to get a plasma get a Panasonic, they make the best plasma displays for the price, if you get a plasma get at least a 42" HD. There is something else called ED or Extended Defintion, which is lower resolution and cheaper, avoid getting that. What ever you do dont buy a brand that you havent heard of, or one that isn't very credible (eg. Vizio, Westinghouse, etc.) Other than those two brands metioned (Sharp and Panasonic) the only other brand worth recommending is Sony. Their Bravia and Wega line of plasmas and LCDs are of a decent quality, but will cost more than a Sharp LCD or Panasonic plasma. As for personal experience those in my family (ie. nuclear) own a 50" Panasonic plasma HD, 37" Sharp Aquos, 37" Sony Bravia LCD, and 50" Sony Wega plasma HD. In addition to the TV I reccomend getting a Monster power surge protector center, and possibly a Monster power voltage stabilizer. You should protect your investment by making sure it doesnt blow a fuse in case there is a power outage (HIGHLY RECCOMENDED).
Optional Equipment:
Progressive scan region free DVD player, (that whole Blu Ray craze is BS, and it wont be long until all DVDs are recorded in HD) and 5-6 channel suround sound preferably JBl or Bose, and an Onkyo receiver if the package doesnt come with a receiver.

Really great infro bro , I appreciate it !!! My plan is to get at least a 50' + , anything larger then that would not fit on the wall properly and just be to big.
For 2500.00 I should be able to get one that would be great and have all that I need.
