My car is really slow at starting up. It takes a lot of cranks before it fires and i think it is due to poor fuel pressure in the lines. It works well when i have a full tank of gas, but as i start getting low the problem starts if i turn the key back and forth a could times to pressurise the system it works fine but not on the first try. How would i go about making the fuel pump stay on longer so i get better pressure, and quicker starts. Thanks for the help!

sounds like your fuel pump is going dead, get that taken care of ASAP, or you will get stranded, and or mess up your motor.

Shaker sounds right. And getting the fuel pump to stay on longer is not fixing the problem when it does not need to stay on longer.
And change the often overlooked fuel filter.

I dont know about 4th gen but the third gen you have to unbolt the shocks and get the rear end to drop all the way down. And then with a solid filler pipe ya gotta snake that some bitch outta there. It kinda sucks.

In 4h gen, basically the same. Drop rear end, drop fuel tank & pull pump out of tank. Or cut a hole on floor over pump position & pull it out from inside of car.
