i was able to beat one of those neon srt-4's last night. both of us were at a 25 mph roll in second gear (although my rpms were about 2k) we both just mashed it at the same moment, and i see him just slowly rollin back and hear the blow off goin. im in second gear the whole time from 25-70, while i hear him goin to third, then fourth. it was awesome. both of us are near stock, and had a passenger. i was also able to smoke one of those 1.8t jetta's that had quite a bit of work done to it
i also lined up with an 84 z28, 305 carbed, auto. he ate me off the line simply because he had traction and got about 2 lengths on me. but about 40 mph i caught up and blew past him. i guess having less hp and torque is good for a launch. not sure what tires he had, but were rather skinny and almost gone. mine are awful fat
