So I bought a project 68 camaro that is in dire need of attention and body panels...  I recently swapped a 2007 5.3L Vortec into my 1993 Jeep Wrangler so I overcame my fear of this sort of stuff.  I have no real training in body work except that I replaced some floor panels in a friends old bronco a while back but that is it.  I can weld and paint and I am a wire guy at my job (USCG aircraft mechanic) so I am comfortable with just about anything. I am pretty good with just about any GM car but I do not know everything... Actually, I usually get by on my wit and charm, but that doesn't seem to get me very far with the cars that I have worked on... Anyway, I'm new here so go easy on me.  You'll probably see me hanging out on the 1st gen threads asking questions like "do you know where this part goes?" and "How do you replace a roof skin?" That sort of thing...  I have already found a wealth of info so I am glad that I found this place.

Well, I work on everything electrical or electronic on our helicopters so I am not sure if that answers your question... but I am pretty wicked with a multimeter and a wiring diagram...haha...

I'll post them up if you really want to see them... I haven't had it dyno-ed yet, but I think that with the exhaust and the intake system that I fabbed up, I should be running about 300h... Way more than it was stock! (4cyl @ 95h)

Okay here are a couple. One of the engine and one of the interior...Yes, all of the gauges work... I did 99.9% of the work myself the .1% being the extra hands to get the motor in and out of the ride with the cherry picker and the last three feet of the exhaust (the pipe bender that we had didn't have a 3" die to bend my exhaust...). The Stock speedo is washed out, but it is accurate now and the rest of the gauges are stock with the exception of the Tach which is an autometer gauge, the closest thing that I could find that matched the rest of the gauges...

Right on. Thanks for the pic's. Do you do any good off roading with that thing?. I see a  good avatar pic just wondering if you beat on it at all, lol. I'm itching to get a Jeep, have been for years but I'm trying to find a CJ...I know....good luck with that...lol, well one not needing a full resto. I would LOVE a Willy's but that's next to impossible. Sorry, lol, I hijacked this thread with Jeep talk, lol. I had my brothers 89 Sahara and beat the hell out of it, miss those toys but it is true what Jeep stands for...Just Empty Every Pocket, lol.

You know i haven't really taken it off road yet.  I was stationed in Alaska when I did the swap and I transferred almost directly after I finished it... i think that I did a good job because it made the drive from AK to GA with absolutely no probs... GO CHEVY!!!
