I have to be honest, I still think I would rather have my old car, but after the insurance adjuster said that it was totaled, I figured it was time to move up to my Cavalier's big brother.  The reason I say I wish I had my old car, well, it was exactly the way I wanted it.  2000 Z24 5spd with supercharger and full Koni suspension buildup.

But that car is gone now :(

Now, having said all that, I do like my new(ish) Fbody.  It's a '98 coupe, 3.8 V6 5spd. 81500 miles.  I picked it up yesterday with the insurance money.  It is really growing on me.

It does have a couple of primarily cosmetic issues on the interior, the steering wheel is worn looking in spots, and the second cupholder up front is cracked around the pivot.

The other issue is that th temperature guage needle looks like it got stuck behind the piece of trim in the lower left section of the cluster.  I bet I can get to it by taking the dash partway apart.

It's got one more thing that's mechanical that I don't think is a problem as much as it is an annoyance, but it sounds like there is a "clunk" noise in the rear suspension when turning sharply.  I don't know if the struts are original or not, but I am already planning on shaking the entire suspension down to make sure that it is within spec, so anything to watch out for there would also be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any help!

3800 series II is a rock solid engine...and once you drive a camaro, it will be hard to drive anything else (besides a nice vette perhaps)

sounds like you know about supercharging...build up that 3.8 and you'll have 100 times a car that cavy was

It is a very nice car, I am really starting to like it a lot.  It's going to be a switch though, since the wreck I've been driving my Fiero around, and the F-body is quite a bit bigger.

The 3800 mated to the T5 is part of what I liked about this car.  I knew that it would start up and drive every time I got into it.  The cavalier was fun, but this is more serious.  I know I will be poking around this forum as much as I do on my Fiero and Cavalier forums.
