Loudest Exhaust for a Z28

I see what you are getting at I think...You want to run both pipes down the same side or the car and then have the drivers side cut over at the rear end. Is that what your talking about? This can be done too, but again it only allows for a 2.25 inch pipe and it still won't flow as good as a 3 inch y pipe. An aftermarket mandral bent Y-pipe is the best choice for these cars, unless you want to run turn-downs before the rear end. I could care less if take my advice or leave it, but I do know what I am tlaking about here, I build these cars for a living and work on them everyday, beleive me there is no real advantage with a 2.5 true dual out the rear of the car and a y-pipe.

Wow, theres really only that much space? Well shoot... guess my genious idea wont work then lol. Ok I see what your saying and i guess for the size of the pipes your right it wouldnt be worth the time or money.

We all know what you're getting at, in fact, you're not the only person who's thought of it (see here:
https://www.flp2win.com/store/images/00camaroexhaust1.jpg ), but like JD said, only 2.25" pipe, and just by looking at it, all the extra bends, you're not going to get anything out of it, especially for the money involved in getting it.

SLP Loudmouth. Glass packs sound like poo IMO.

Hey, I was just searching for stuff about SLP LM's in the forum and found this post.
Spartan - you're mentioning wanting to be emissions legal. I've read that loudmouth cat-backs are 50 state emissions legal, but what about sound? See, I want something that is loud too, but not so loud that I get pulled over everyday. Are Loudmouths legal as far as sound goes, too? EDIT: When I'm thinking "emissions" I'm thinking about CO emission, not sound emission... When they say 50 state emissions legal, do they mean sound and/or CO?
I don't plan on putting in headers, and I'm keeping my cat, and in tact. Will LM's (1 and 2) pass inspection, because they don't really have mufflers do they? They call it a bullet-style muffler, but isn't it just a resonator? A resonator isn't really considered a muffler is it? And don't you have to have muffler to get inspected?

Yeah, I want more of the classic sound from like 2nd an 1st gens but i want the gas mileage that EFI gets lol.

Well, haha, that doesn't really address my previous question, but raises a new one... How much would a LM I affect my gas mileage?...

oh sorry, Im pretty sure LM are legal. Now, making a camaro sound like a harley.. THATS breaking emssion code.. but since their pretty loud already its hard to tell.. I know at least for Mustang GTs Magnaflows were loud but not enough for a ticket. Keeping your stock manifolds and cats will also save sound.. They kinda work to muffle it aswell since that dont flow like off road pipes or aftermarket headers.

My 97 Z deffinitly was not emmission legal but we dont have that in nebraska anyway. It had edelbrock headers, a 3in y-pipe, cat deletes, then a 3in all the way back to flowmaster 40 muffler, loud and mean as hell, i mean it was louder at idle than most of my friends/ neigbors cars at WOT haha. I sold it to a friend kinda, ill see if i can get a clip of the exhaust...although i highly doubt its legal anywhere emissions are required, it actually shot out a nasty black substance out of the exhaust lol.
lm2 is actually quieter than lm1, at the end of next month im going to put an x-pipe after the headers and then get 2 slp bullet resonators and have a side exit, i already have a ypipe setup with no cat and its loud, but v8's were made for true duals, i already know there is gonna be a clearance issue, but its a clearance issue already with lt's and a ypipe

if you want really loud and you want it emissions leagal then go with a SLP loudmouth i just put one on my car today and its like i dont even have an exhaust its soo loud but it sounds good. they call it a resginator but its more like a straight pipe

Spartan, go for Dynatech not Dynomax.

I have long tube headers and TSP 3 inch true dual exhaust with bullet mufflers and no cats. it is dumped, loud, and it doesn't annoy me at all.

95: Dynatech.. thats what i ment... whoops..
And Cran, how do you get by the Washington Emissions with no cats? When i registered i didnt have to do an emissions test but im guessing in two years i will and i DOUBT they will pass me right now.
