Never heard of anyone doing it but it sounds like a great idea to me. Those 3rd gen Camaros look great, most of them just needed a little more power.

You're going to have to do some custom fabricating because the LSX series aren't based on the original SBC block. It's possible, but it's not going to be the easiest thing to do. Also consider that you're going to have to get all the computer components as well as all the sensors to make the car OBDII to the PCM doesn't freak out. I'm not saying it isn't possible, but you have a pretty long and tough road ahead of you.

id say your better off just buying a 4th gen. it would be tight but sounds like a lot of work.

dont they make crates that are the lsx engines only made for early model cars? I see them doing LSX projects on TVs that are carbbed and what not.

You can convert any LSx to a carb. MSD makes a distributor and ignition system to do it. You can also buy a complete engine as a crate motor. My point is that I wish people would use the internet before spouting off about a subject that they clearly are not very educated on. Myself and a friend swapped an LS1 into a 65 Malibu and it was a very easy swap. I know guys who have done the 3rd gen swap and it was also pretty easy. Hawks makes everything you need to make it a bolt in deal.

yeah.. thats what i thought.. Like Reggie Jacksons Camaro for example is a carbed LSx project and i believe its a 69.
