I'm new to this forum  and have a question. I just bought a Gm 8.5 for my z28. Its a 10 bolt rear with a Richmond mini spool and 3.73 gears and was wondering if anyone can tell me what kind of power will these hold up to if any. I know powertrax and auburn gears make a really nice posi chuck and I am looking for input if I'm wasting my time with the spool.

Spools can take a lot, that's what they're made for. You don't want to use it on the street though, since it locks your axles together, leaving you with no differential action. Going around a turn would be next to impossible.

Thanks for the reply I got some power under the hood and didn't know if i was wasting my time especially with the 10 bolt so I'll try it out and will have to see if it holds up other wise I'll have to upgrade to  a full spool.  Thanks for your time camaro 69 the dual quads look nice what are you putting out for power?

I was going with an eaton posi unit. I've heard some good things about them.

unless your dirt tracking i wouldn't use that mini spool on the street.when you turn its going to chirp the tires and put stress on your axle's.
