I recently bought a 96' v6 camaro and ive been looking for a coldair intake and a performance chip but when i went to my local Autozone they told me that they didn sell either one for a 96' v6 camaro. Ive also lookd on a few websites and havnt been able to find anything. So if anybody knows of where i can buy either one of these please let me kno.

there's no such thing as a chip for 4th gens. do your exhaust and intake. depending onhow many miles ae on it, N2O it.
for exhaust, magnaflow is prolly best, for intake, you can buy a CAI, or a home made SRI works pretty well too, and it's only ~50 bucks.

so much rudness...
And no chip for a 4th gen is worth it. Just buy a programer or have it dyno tuned.

Wow, this thread got caustic quick...
Needless to say 96, listen to the other members on the sight, they know what they're talking about. Yes, JET makes "chips" for a 4th gen, but they're a waste of money. You're not going to get any real power out of a "chip" (which is actually a module that goes between the harnass and the PCM), and you don't get any real power out of a handheld programmer. You can get a real dyno tune if you want power, but you're not going to get very much on a stock motor, end of story.

ouch yenko.. u having a bad day?
v6, he is right. this topic has been discussed at length there. the "chips" are not actually chips as we tend to think of them. back in the day a cars PCM had a single chip that contained its fuel and timing curves. these new chips sit inline between the pcm and harness. they are actually interrupters or program modules. they are dangerous and pretty worthless as performance mods. a complete waste of money.
get a handheld tuner or put your car on a dyno, but neither of thosse things is worth ur time until you have some substantial mods. NA tuning doesnt produce alot of power. and even at that, the smaller the NA motor, the less the tuning gains. I would never tune an NA motor until I had full boltons at least.

ah, there it is. I was going to say, yenko u usually arent an angry little bastard. v6, more to the point, there are alot of people who think putting a resistor in the intake temp gauge will increase power too, and they sell 25 cent resistors from radioshack for $50 a pop. Not everything is what it seems (ur friends "chip") and not everything is worth ur time or money.
fixed
took you long enough to get in here specter

,
very bad day

yea i know that theres "chips" for 4th gen's, but i said there's no such thing becuase, it doesn't do anything
95slvrz28, i thought you were against me there for a minute
