No Reverse?

my 700R4 transmission wont go into reverse. all other gears work but when i put it into reverse it wont go anywhere. any ideas of what could be wrong?

How is the fluid?  Might just need to be topped off and be good, try some tranny conditioner too.

i just put new fluid in. it was still a little low so i thought that was the problem so i just filled it up again. this time i was in a hurry and added a little too much. would it not work if its too full?

There are so many things to check but most are internal. All you can do on the outside is check the TV cable, fluid level and shift linkage. Time for a rebuild. How did your old fluid look?
