v6-v8. i pretty sure i got a bad opti. bought it brand new. i think im going to go with the delteq coil setup, im not pulling the front of the motor apart again.

to which v8?
ur sig lists an lt1 but i dont see a v6 in there.
if your coil is firing it has only 1 place to go and thats into the spark plug. all u can do is just check out the wiring and make sure its put together right. also, if you arent sparking in the proper order you will not get the motor to fire.

the white one is my second camaro, that was a v6 that i swap to a v8. the black one was my z28 SS clone. its a LT1 with the optispark, coil go to opti then to the spark plug. its triggering the coil to fire but not sending spark to the spark plug wire. im thinking its a problem with the cap and rotor.

is your coil discharging? if so then you have a bad opti. from what ive seen around here the general fix is to just replace the opti

have you read any of the above?

yes
the way you worded it you first said the coil was firing, then above you said it was triggered but failed to send spark. you CAN trigger a coil but fail to reach the point where it discharges. for this reason I wanted to be clear on where exactly the charge was being stopped. im not really sure what the point of your thread was if you knew the answer to begin with. ur getting charge out of coil. its stopping at the opti = bad opti. i guess im pissed about it being a new opti and not working. at the time when i posted i wasnt clear that the opti triggered the coil to fire. now that i know that im going to buy the delteq kit, that way i dont have to pull the front of the motor apart and replace the opti again.
