My clutch pedal squeaks when I depress it. It also squeaks on the way back up.
Does anyone have the quick fix for this before I start on it?

You don't have a grease zerk on the piviot tube?
Or are the new ones hydraulic?

Just do not spray directly on the plate that touches bottom of your shoe

I don't know if it's hydraulic or not (1978)... I didn't notice any hydraulic cylinders in there... I just sprayed the pivots of the clutch assembly (under the hood, below the master cylinder) with WD40 and that took care of my squeak... but I had to use a brace to keep the clutch pedal depressed at 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 of the way during each spraying. Just spraying it with the clutch pedal all the way up yielded no results.
Then I went for a spin (it was literally a spin because the roads are wet here in Washington state now and will be for the next several months, I have 3.73:1 locking rear axle) around "the loop" (I call it "the loop" -its the local back-roads which I use as my race track for testing) and when I got back to the apartment parking lot, the cops had pulled somebody over directly across from my building
Maybe they left me alone and pulled that guy over instead? But who knows. I'm sure they see my car out there in our gravel parking lot every day, and they've probably seen me out there working on it
They'll pull me over when they need to make their quota for the week. I obviously have money, with my shiny, flamboyant, metallic magenta paint job
Everyone seems to like it (except me) I'll get black paint after I do my transmission work (wanting a 5-speed with overdrive gear for freeway driving). But those will be other threads...
yep though, good old WD on the clutch pedal. git-r-done
