hey im trying to put on a new SS gas cap for my 68, and it has a little metal ring that keeps the cap hanging when taken off, instead of it being loose and dropping it/losing it etc... the ring has a little bolt that needs to be put in somewhere to hold the ring... anyone know where it goes? we replaced the rear vallance so there arent any bolt holes if there would normally be one from factory. any ideas? anything will help. thanks

you use the bottom left hole that goes through your filler neck. just take the screw out and put the stud connected to the wire in the hole. you might have to open the hole with a drill bit.
