Star Wars Dash.... WTF????

Ok So I bought a 84 Camaro last night for a whoping 650.00. The car needs work as most cheap projects go. But it runs and shifts. But let me tell ya. I am perplexed over this Berlinetta dash. It must be faulty. I have a constant 88 for spedo and the tach does not work. Either that or my engine runs at 3500 all the time. NOT. Ok and the A/C controls, Turn signal, wipers do not work. The headlights are on a toggle switch. So my question is this. Does anybody have a idea before I call Painless and buy a universal harness, Add autometers and a Ididit column? Can I adapt a standard dash without a engenering degree in electrical? Anybody have a idea out there???? Thanks for the help.......
 
Anybody can polish a turd. Its making it flush fast and smell good the real challange....

I made this all electric cluster from a 97 Astro work in my mom''s 84 S10 and I aint got no degree!

if you can get the harness
actually all the wires were the same color
 

Will the s-10 dash fit in place? I have a sweet ''86 Berlinetta that has sat for two years ''cause of dash  control problems!

man, that thing is UGLY

change the whole dash out with a 4th gen dash.
i think someone has done it before but it seems very hard and time consuming

its really not toooooo bad. i have a friend of mine that took one out of a 97 i think. he upgraded to an OBD 2 system too. But when you do that your stuck with it because you have to cut off two of the major bolts. ill see if i can get some pics of it for ya. looks really nice. he did the dash and center console.

There is a third gen with a forth dash, LS1 and whole front clip I seen in  a magazine.
And yes that S10 dash is Butt Fugly!
