I was just wondering what the stock gears are in a 94 z28? and is the stock rear end strong enough to handle a supercharger or do you have to change the rear end?

There were 3 different gear ratios available in 94: 2.73, 3.23, 3.42. The 2.73 was standard equipment on auto transmissions, 3.23 was the performance option on auto transmissions, 3.42 was for manual transmissions. The stock rear will probably stand up under a supercharger as long as you don't use slicks, but without them the supercharger won't do much good.

Is there an ID# on the axel to tell what gears you have?

Not sure...but im goign to call a dealership with the VIN # to find out what it was sold with...hopfully they can tell me...so...the highest gears i can put in the car are 3.42...how come i have seen cars with 4.10 the same year as mine..does that mean they have already changed the rear end totally?

The factory only put those gears in, but you are free to put in whatever gear ratio you can get to fit. Aftermarket, salvage yard, or GM.
