Came back from Iraq on r&r. The car drove like sh-t. Was sluggish and the engine would rev when I push the gas. It would drive but not as it did before. I always put the high octane gas in it. My Dad put the mid grade in. What could the problem? Is it the gas? It has been sitting for 4 months with driving of it once a week. I want my power back. This is pissing me off. Oh , I have a 4 speed muncie if it helps.

It has been stored in the garage. Going stop by advance auto and add an additive to the gas, and run the gas out the system and fill her up with the high octane. Thanks bro.

Going to add additive to the fuel to rid of the water, change plugs, change fuel filter, and clean up the carb a bit. I will let you know whats up when I get this done. Thanks!

I have msd ignition. I changed the plugs and cleaned up the carb, and it still does the same. The engine doesn't run like sh-t, its just not transferring it to the wheels. The engine has power and I really don't think it had water in the gas. The engine runs fine. Its just that the power is not delivered to the wheels. I called three different transmission places and talked with my good friend along with my Father. They all said it might be the clutch, flywheel and things in that area. I said f-ck it and dropped it off at Cottmans transmission this morning. Nothing to get mad about anymore, f-ck it, its an old car and with age you have to replace items at some point in time.

Picking up the Beast this evening from Cottmans transmission. Come to find out I needed a new clutch. So they ordered a new clutch kit for it . It will be $500 with everything. Thats with labor and the kit. I thought it was going to be in the range of $1000 or more.

Sorry for the delay. Cottmans was shipped the wrong clutch so I got it my car back on Monday. Got my power back! Amen to that. I have to take it back on tuesday because the clutch pedal is kinda loose. I have to push it all the way to the ground. Is there anything I can do to remedy this on my own? I have to install all my new stuff- carpet and sound deadner, radiator core support, grille, and electronic cutouts. So I will be busy for about a full day doing this stuff before I head back to Iraq on Saturday. Gotta go back over there and make my money for my new engine. So that is the update on the camaro. I really appreciate the input. I check this forum on a routine basis while over there. Take care guys and gals.

Another update. Took it to Cottmans and they fixed the problem. A little fine tuning with the clutch pedal was all that was needed. It drives like a beast. I worked on it today installing the electronic cutouts. With the floating flange on the cutouts it really tucks up nice. It purrs like a kitten, and when I open the cutouts it roars like a lion. I took my time so I could hide the wires and to make sure I only had to do it once. Intalling a new radiator core support and radiator shroud tommorow . Going to help with pulling my buddies engine out of his 69 camaro Z28 tommorow. Man, I'm having so much fun I don't want to go back to Iraq on Saturday. Oh, well gotta make the $$$$$.
