The last owner put in a K&N filter into my 95 Z28 and when I went to clean it I ended up having to take off half the underside to get to it. Is the stock filter set up easier to change and how hard would it be to trade them out. I really dont want to deal with all this take apart the front end, wash spray, wash spray, still dirty but oh well, oil then put the whole darn thing back together.

its not really that big of a job is it? like 4 bolts on the undercarriage. but if you dont want the performance then i am sure you could put it back to stock as long as u have the stock air box

I don't have the stock box thats the problem. I am not a huge fan of the filter that is in there. I would rather have a dry filter. Its not like I drag the car so I don't need fancy pain in the ass parts on there.

Good luck finding a stock intake, they're so restrictive most people just throw them away.  When I took my stock box out I don't think it would have been any easier to change the stock filter, it's in the same horrible location.

If you want a dry cone filter, you could contact AEM, they make parts for imports, but its high quality stuff. Good luck finding a stock intake, maybe try ebay or a junkyard.

Isnt there something I can put in that you dont have to go through the bottom? I don't mind changing it often I just dont want to take apart the car to do it!!

I think I still have my stock airbox and other stuff.  I'll have to look, but right now my wife and I are in the process of getting our house ready to put on the market so we can move, so if they're anywhere, they're probably in storage.  Our storage bin is full, so it'll probably be about 4-6 months before I find them.

Anyway, it seems like you just tore your car apart and cleaned everything, so you should be good for a while.  If/when I come across the stockers, they're yours.  I'll just charge you S&H for them.
