so anyway im working on putting in a new motor into my 79 camaro. the motor i bought is new remanufactured 350 bored .060 over, blue racer RV cam, bigger exhaust valves, exhaust ports ported, flat top pistons and 4 bolt mains. the torque on this motor is from idle to 3,800 rpm. do you think a 650 doubble pumper would work?? and what would be a good mechanical fuel pump to match up with the carb?oh yea and i have a performer intake and headers. thanks

i say dont go with holly they are hard to tune and need tuning alot if its not going to be a all out race car i would say go with a edelbrock carb either a 650cfm or a 750cfm.not sure on what fuel pump.but i''m sure these other guys will chime in.

I would stay away from a mechanical pump, they tend to bog. If those 2 carbs are too high in price then the next best would be the holley street avenger... if money isn''t an option then I would say the proform Race series
http://www.jegs.com/p/Proform/753487/10002/-1/10271 I just went through 3 new carbs, Edelbrock, Holley, and found that the QF/proform carbs to be the best, and well worth the extra $200
