Trunk leak

Does anyone else's trunk get some water in it when it rains or when you wash it? My trunk has a brand new seal and still leaks, I was told to try siliconing the joints, we'll see if that helps. Anyone have other solutions?

Theres more than one place for it to leak. You need to have someone in there with a flashlight and look to see where it is leaking from, while someone runs water over it.
It can be coming from the rear window area, trunk seal, marker lights,or tail lights, also if you have a spoiler it could leak around the mounting studs.
If its leaking from the trunk seal. You can bend the lip up a little that holds the trunk seal, in the area where it leaks. The joint of the trunk seal needs to be in the center at the bottom, just above the trunk lock

I had a friend look at it and he told me it was leaking from the trunk joints, and I needed to take off my seal, silicone it and wait for it to dry, put the seal back on and run water over it to see if that takes care of the problem. That will be tomorrow's project. 

Racer sounds right. Sit in the back and have someone run a hose over it. That makes it easy.

where exactly are you getting the water pooling up? is it in the front or the back?
 
you also want to stay away from regular silicone. it promotes rust a lot of times the way it holds water. you really want to use an automotive butyl if you find the leak in an area that isn't near a gasket

I get water pooling up in the front of my trunk (near the tail lights). I bought a automotive silicone -- it showed a picture of someone applying it to a front windshield. Would these create rust? I will do whatever it takes to prevent rust! 

if it was being applied to a widshield then it probably was a type of butyl, because that's where it is used 90% of the time
 
also if you're getting your leak back there, don't discount the idea that it could also be coming in through the bumper-bolt holes. lots of people don't even realize that they bolt in through the trunk

I had very tiny rust holes underneath the chrome molding for the back window.  This is a common place for water to seep through and you would never know about it.  I didnt find out till years later when we took the molding off for replacement.
