As you all know, I drive an 02 LS1.  I was wondering about tune-ups.  Where is a good place get one done? What all does a tune-up do and include? When and how often should I get one? Cause I don't know that its ever been done to the car.  And how much am I expecting to pay? Thanks guys

i cant really tell you where to get one, just find a good local shop near you, prices will vary, a tune up usually includes spark plugs, ignition wires, and a fuel filter change, most cars dont usually need one until around 100k, but i would get it done every 20k or so

If you go to a shop, a basic tune-up is simply new plug wires and plugs and a xx point inspection...which you may or may not have to pay for other things that are needed.

Last year I got an estimate for $300 for my V6, so for the LS1 it would be more.  Get good plugs and wires (AC Delco/MSD wires, AC delco/NGK plugs)

Gotcha, I gotta few places in mind around here.  I think I'll get a few quotes from different places first.  I'll probably get one done when I have enough money saved up after a couple more mods :)

Very good thought, I just might do it myself actually.  I have a full service manual handy as well... I'll probably look the tutorial up online and go from there

What all do I need to replace in a tune-up?

Spark Plugs & Wires
PCM Cover
Distributor Cap
Oil and Fuel Filter

Anything else??

Where are good places online to get upgraded parts for a tune-up? Does anyone know of tune-up kits for an ls1 that are worth buying? I'd really like to do all of this on my own to avoid the arm and a leg labor at the shop.  I'd like to come out of this tune-up better than original with aftermarket parts if possible.  Thanks guys

Add to your list new oil (given) and an air filter.  May as well get some coolant and windshield fluid.  pcv valve too.  Dont forget to check the gap on the new plugs.
