vats system on 89 chevy camaro

like anyone else sometime in your life with your camaro you have a problem with the car not wanting to start because a problem with the vats system my problem was first the sterring column went bad.I could not find a 89 column any column will work all you need to do is use your wireing fish it through the column and your business.
Secound problem was when I would turn the key to start it would not turn the solution was to replace it with a $80 unit and new key.I did not want to spend that most so I find out how to replace the Vats System. Clip the 2 wires going to the unit go to Radio Shack and have them to rum ohm test to see how much curcuit is going though the system than fo $1.00 purchase ohm resistor attach it to the 2 wires replace the key/switch unit for $12.00 at advance auto parts and your are in business
