T.R. or the GN was a turbo V6 (twin turbo even, I think).

There was a 89 & 90 Pontiac Turbo Grand Prix, based on a modified 3.1 V6

The 1989 Indy Pace car was called the "TTA",there were not alot built as compared to the GTA's but it was basically a GTA powered by a slightly modified 86-87 Buick Grand National drivetrain. They are known to some as the fastest Pontiacs Buick ever built. They typically ran low 13's STOCK and could dip into the 11's with pocket change and a good tune. Most if not all have leather interiors. They sell for more than twice as much today as a GTA in the same condition. Here is a clip of this car against a LT1 Formula car.http://videos.streetfire.net/video/4a666aa8-28fe-4146-95fa-8555a2c37bd8.htm There is a wealth of info available on http://www.turbobuick.com about the TTA which has it's own forum over there.I am new here becausse I just picked up this 80' Berlinetta and saw this thread and though I would reply and maybe shed some light on this awesome car and possibly save some V8 guys from getting there feelings hurt by a little ol V6 3.8 liter Trans Am. Enjoy!!
