Yes updates...ok well alot of new projects have been started but none are getting finished. Running into too many snags. Started building the engine but ran into a problem with the rods I have. They are press fit rods and too long to fit in the piston so we ordered some new floater rods and they will be here mon and I will be able to finish the motor. We did get all the front suspension parts cleaned up and painted along with painting the headers.

All of my new interior came:
seat covers

new door panels

head liner and sail panels

So last weekend I tore apart the front and rear seats.

Today I rebuilt my carborator

And we started putting the front suspension together.

Bob has finished the repairs on the inside bottom of one door and about to fix the other one.

And he has gotten almost all of the duct work in on the ac.

Yes it is. I also made a part list of all the stuff I need and it is a bit overwhelming. Any advice I could give to anyone doing this kind of a project.......buy a car that atleast has some stuff. By that I mean all the little things add up. I am now buying door handles and window cranks, interior screw kit, a new brake line and booster, door locks, armrest kit, a glove box, dash pad, rear view mirror, rear leaf springs, door sill plates, seat belts, new wiring, an alternator, a stering wheel, and well you get it. I am basically replacing most everything cause it aint there. Or what was there is trash. Too much neglect. So wed we make one big order to NPD and a small one to Ricks 1st gen. I found that most everything was cheaper at NPD. Only a couple things were cheaper at Rick's.

Well I havent been able to post here in a while. I got the virus that camaroforums got. So I have stayed away. Cplthomas I have them all loaded onto photobucket. None are on here.

Here''s the story with the car. So since the last time I posted both doors now are repaired. Alot of parts are getting primed....spoiler, trunk opening, doors.

Laying on the door and spoiler in the pic above is my new mesh rear tray. In the background you will see my new grill and in the box under it is my new rear leaf springs. We had a huge shipment come in finally. We ordered a miriad of parts. Too many parts to list. Here is a pic of a sample of what we got. Things like mirrors, door handles and cranks, new wipers. Just to name a few.

Bob painted my hood hinges and ebrake

ok so on to the suspension. I now have a new respect for anyone who works on cars for a living. It took us several days just to figure out how to compress the coil springs and then attach the control arms. But we finally got it.

Now the motor has been a challenge. The 2nd set of rods we ordered came in and were still wrong. So a 3rd set had to be purchased. Finally we got the motor put together.....well most of it.

And we got it onto the subframe along with the new 700r4 tranny and new brake line

2 things we discovered. Switching to a dif tranny our tranny mount doesnt line up which is a quick fix....but also my drive shaft now is too long. So we are in the process of getting it shortened.
My new heads finally got here after many weeks of waiting and they will go on right before the car goes to the paint booth.

ok so then we finally got the subframe shipped back to Bob and he reattached it to the chasis. He has all the inside of the engine bay all nice and painted black.

The door jams now have been painted and clear coated.

Here they are putting one of the doors back on for a final fit now that the car is sitting on the suspension.

And lastly Bob put the front end back together will all the new metal to see how well it fit together and he was very happy. All will come back apart so things can get painted. Also they have to release the suspension because the car is sitting too high. When we put it together be tightened everything down very tightly but there was no weight on the subframe. Now it has the weight of the car along with the motor. Just one of those things you gotta know about when rebuilding one of these cars. In the 2nd pic you can see my new old school rims on. I think they look kickass.
