I have a 97 Camaro.. With No Motor or Tranny.. I was thinking of making a dragster outta it.. and put in a old school 350..is there any certain year of motor i should go with.. iam not worried cuttin on the hood.. how much would i have to cut the fire wall.. and what would I need to do to make this car driveable like tranny wise and drive line/rear end modifications.. has anyone done this.. or know anyone that has thanks..

There's not really any certain year engine you "should" put in it. "Could" is a different matter. You can put just about any year small block in it that you want to. If you wanted to you could even put a big block in it if you want to drag race with it. With a small block you won't have to do any cutting at all. In fact, it should more or less just be a bolt-in. Transmission is a bolt in if you put in the T56 or 4L60E. If you want to put in something else then you still most likely won't have to do anything because the transmission tunnel is plenty large enough. The one thing you might have to do if you go with a different transmission is get a different driveshaft. There are tons of people that drag race their Camaros. Because it's a small block powered Chevrolet with fairly common running gear you can do just about anything you want to with it (provided you have the monies to do it).
