I have done swaps in the past and not camaros but on other cars I have owned. There is always always alwsays something that is over looked or forgot about. Even after planning and more planning. So keep that in mind

Yeah. You could build the V6. I heard about V6s pushing AMAZING hp. BUT if you dont want to spend as much making it go fast with alot of bolt ons and supporting mods for a power adder id suggest getting a Z28, Lt1 or LS1 either would work. My plan of getting a 383 will land me a 440hp engine for like 5-7grand give or take. Its not cheap but its worth it.

Once nice thing about doing that would be that you could claim the insurance of the V6 but have the power of the V8.

Wouldn't I have to insure it as the V8?  To avoid legal trouble?

I think if you already have it as a V6 and the VIN says it's a V6 you can keep it as a V6, but I'm not 100% positive about that.

the insurance on a V8 would probaby be like 10 bucks more.. i pay 30 bucks less on my LT1 than i did on my 98 slowstang V6. im 18 insured independantly for my z and have max liability (if i hit someone they are fully covered but im fully screw...) With my Mustang i was on my parents insurance and had tons of discounts with the same coverage.
