I believe it is. And the LS9 is in production for the ZR1 as well. Its too early to tell but It looks like it could be possible to mod a current LS3 with the blower kit from the ZR1. Or we can at least remain hope full.

i thought all the LS9 was, is a blown LS3? thats what i read somewhere i think.  either way.. it's gonna be a beast. i still don't think it'll replace a LS1 or LS2 in the performance world though =)

The LS9 is a blown and modified LS3 block they could not use the LS7 becase the walls where too thin for boost.

If you wanted a engine for drag racing I'd go for the LT1 with the 4 bolt mains. But, since you're not, I'd go with the LS1.

yea, i knew the walls were to thin with the 7, which is a shame, cuz that would be one hell of a car boosted. i beleive the walls on the 6 are to small to right? and the 2 is so-so.

LT1s arent bad either, and can be some beasty cars, and their better for TQ (Stroker FTW!!!) but the LS engine series is better all around, LS1, LS2, LS4(cadallac/yukon/truck engine) LS6 and LS7 are all ****s of engines

What about the LS9
620HP
600torque
LS3 modified block with a blower
whats not to love about that.

and the 408, 418, 427, 454 LSx engines/strokers

The walls on the LS6 are exactly the same as the LS1, the only difference was a different intake, heads, cam and valve train.

And just because I want to jump on the double-post band wagon, the LSX series' advantages are all in the heads. They're a much better design allowing higher flow volumes while retaining good flow velocity, as I already explained earlier. The heads also allow for much higher lift over a standard SBC. And Stic, just a slight correction, the LS1/LS6 aren't 350 SBC, they're a completely different block, and they have a 346 ci displacement, 350 just sounds better...

oh **** your right.. i forgot the LS6 is the same block as the LS1.

and yea, it's 346, not 350, but it's funny, even in one of my dad's vette catalog's thing, it sais "350CI, 350HP, 350TQ" for one of the plaques you can get.
