all i have to say is last time i checked the worlds fastest camaro used the ls1 so that says it all for me i have a 98 ss love my ls1 plus i believe the ls1 is a lighter engine not like that matters all that much

Actually you're wrong. The world's fastest stock Camaro is a '69 COPO with the aluminum 427. Get one of those and I'll join in worshiping your car/engine. The LS engine I really want is the LS7.. the modern 427. I love my Camaro but I can't wait to get done with school so I can get a Z06!

i beleave this is like .1 second faster.. whatever. i dont know the exact times of the COPO, but this car is street legal

No way that car is street legal, the tires it has on it are no where near street legal, and if you put street tires on it, it wouldn't run those times.

ive seen write up's on it.. claims it's street legal. i wouldnt think so either, but who knows. lol

specter drives with DRs and ive seen alot of cars drive around with slicks up here, in summer, specially during americade.. granit, it's not legal, but it's not something cops usually bug you about.

If it's a "drag Radial" it's going to be DOT approved.  MT makes an "E/T street" wich is a DOT approved slick (not radial, softer compound etc.) that has about 3 lines in it for "traction" on the road, but it's more made for drag classes that require a DOT approved tire to run, it's not street worthy at all haha.  I have a set of those

Edit:  Hey Specter, I stumbled on this and I thought I'd let you know...

1969 Chevrolet Camaro ZL-1

no, the nitto 555r and M/T ET Street are both Drag radials.  to be a street tire it must be a radial.   Drag slicks are not radials.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radial_tire

the word radial is actually what denotes it as still being street legal.

And a 1/4 mile time that fast with a 0-60 time that slow means really crappy tires.

Nono, that's 0-60 mph...

As far as the tires go, I don't buy it, no tire used to be a radial, check out the difference between these two tires...

http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/strip.php?item=ETStreet
and
http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/strip.php?item=ETStreetRadial

Both DOT approved, one radial, one bias ply.
