I have a 68 Camaro w/ CalTracs rear suspension. I am looking for anyone that has run this setup on their car for some advice on getting my car to hookup better with it. I have a Steve Schmidt 585BBC with 1038HP 825 ft lbs of torque, Moser rearend 3.70 gears, 400 trans w/ brake, Neal Chance Pro Mod bolt together 10" 4500 stall, will be running Hoosier 29.0 x 11.0 x 15.0 slicks. My car is all factory chassis and body and front suspension, all steel, sub frame connectors, Not tubbed and street legal. So far I have run a 9.55 1/4 mile footbraking the car before losing 2nd gear in my old tranny and having this new one built with a brake in it. I have a small amount of tire spin on the launch and upon shifting to 2nd when I was running a Hoosier 29.0x10.0x15.0 tire when foot braking the car. At my local track, which sucks for traction since it was resurfaced from starting line to 240 ft out on the off season so has no rubber laid on it except for 3 races now, when trying to use the trans brake I go up in smoke right out of the gate The time I listed and prob I had before was at Sacramento, Ca track which does hook good Anyone that can be of help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.
