If you look at Sick's Quarter Mile Horsepower Calculator at
http://cleanandsober.741.com/HorsepowerCalculator.html

you will notice a very great similarity to mine.
http://www.angelfire.com/fl/procrastination/quarter.html

In fact, the Java is identical.  Check the source code.

Only I wrote mine in 1996.

Someone want to open that thread back up and put credit where credit is due?

Although it does look similar, it also look quite simple.  I think you would need to bring this up with the member and ask him to edit his post.

the net is full of script. if your claiming that one, so be it. the post wasn't to credit or discredit anyone. just simply to help those who ask. if your looking for prestige here maybe you should change your nic to The Camaro Doctor. my apologies to anyone who may have viewed me as a javascript guru or something. it wasn't intended that way. the script has been changed. Sick

Hey good doctor,
Was the script copy righted? Were disclaimers included? Are you looking for royalties? Did your lawyer look it over before you published it?

I'm rather surprised at the replies.

------------
cplthomas,
It may be simple, but the text was the same, too.  That is about as likely as winning a lottery, unless it was copied.

------------
SickSickSick,
The Internet is full of a lot of things, but just because you can copy and paste doesn't mean it is right to do so.

Several articles and pictures from my sites have been used with permission.  I'm an easy guy to get along with.  I usually prefer a link, but some like to put stuff on their sites for access, and then I usually require only credits listed and a link back to my site.

There were notices on the page.  This one was in the script:

"/* Javascript code for calculating the horsepower based on quarter mile performance.  Original Javascript by  Stegath Coachcraft (kstegath@voyager.net)  and modified to accept original programming by DTS Software. Copyright 1996. Please notify both and give us credit if you copy it"

This one was on the page, and in pretty simple terms:

"Copyright © 1996-2002 VetteNet and all authors as listed. Use of this material is protected by the copyright laws of the United States of America.
In plain, simple language, don't copy any of this. Someone owns it!"

As to prestige, no, I'm here to get information about my Camaro, to help when I get a chance, and to have fun.

z28pete,

Yes, there were notices in the script and on the page.  All I am really after is to keep credit where credit is due.
