I have found a 1994 3.4L camaro for $1000. I wanted a z28 but to much money. Would this be a good doner car for a lt1 or ls1? and how much work would I be looking at? It has a 5 speed tranny would it bolt up to a V8 or would I need differnt bellhousing?
I would appreciate any ones helpful info. thanks

It should be fine, most of what will need are already there.  You will need to replace the ecm and upgrade the mounts.  There is more to it obviously but these are two things that you will most likely find.  Fuel delivery system as well, the pressure for the 3.8 is different for an ls1 or ls2.  Just a couple of things.  I once put a 4.3 v6 in an S-10 that had a streight 6 in it, those were the biggest issues I had, and the cooling system needed changing.  The more parts for the ls1 or ls2 you start with is the less parts you will have to buy.
I say go for it, you can only learn from any mistake.

That tranny will not hold up to a v-8 bro, I've seen this in the past, you are going to have to buy an LT-1 donor car pretty much, buick roadmaster, caprice, camaro whatever... I just bought a 2500 HD w/ 6 liter and I'm trying the same, basically everything that is hooked up to the motor has to go with it, and get the computer reprogrammed, it can be done though and I wish you luck....just wish me luck with mine in return, I have a 95 w/ 3.4 and it's time for the LQ9 I think, I also picked up a 93 z-28, LT-1, T-56, Posi, everything together running, w/ a new paint job for 1000.00, the guy thought the motor was locked up.......bad starter...lol., I did not let him know though.yep, i am lucky sometimes

The bellhousing of your 3.4 v-6 trans won't bolt up to the v-8, it's smaller. The 4.3 v-6 is a different animal, it's basically a sawed off small block v-8.

Im in the middle of doing this swap right now.  Its more work then you think.  I have a 94 z28 that im using as a donor for my 95 v6 camaro.  this is the only way to do this swap.  the suspension is diffrent, rear end, all the wiring, cooling system, fuel pump.  you need to swap the entire front chasis wiring along with the dash wiring and gauge cluster, the dash wiring goes all the way back to the hatch, so you have to rip the entire interior apart. the only way to do a lt1 swaw is to have a donor car. good luck
