the cams. and i dont know how to read specs, so do them on a scale of 1 to 10. 1 being whimpy, 10 being big mofos than can't let car idle. unless you wanna teach me to read cam specs

i cant really read them all that well, i can just compare. some guys seem to be able to visualize a powerband. the cam is 232/234 duration 0.595/0.598" lift 113 lsa[intake/exhaust] stock is 202/210 Duration 0.496"/0.496" 116 LSA more duration, more lift, and more overlap generally lead to more peak hp at a higher rpm. lower LSA gives more overlap because (lobe separation angle) the lobes are closer together. to put things into perspective, the ls6 cam is 207/217 int/exh duration 0.525" / 0.525" int/exh lift 116 LSA, which isnt much bigger than stock. the GM hotcam for the ls1 is 218/227 int/exh @ 0.05" duration 0.525" / 0.525" int/exh lift 112 LSA all of these spcs are @.05" lift, meaning the numbers are measured right after the vlaves open. full numbers are something like 29x/29x duration, but most people dont read thsoe. so im still bigger than the GM hotcam. the biiiiiiiiger cams like the trex or MS4 are like 240s duration, and .620s or so lift i think. i cant remember what that white car had in it for a cam, but it was only a little smaller than mine. which means a little more low end torque, and a lower powerband, but not as much peak hp. bigger cams get to rev higher, but lose torque. I will spin this one up to 6500rpm probably. These springs wont float so ill run it to 7k on the dyno to see where my power starts to fall off. I know guys that spin cams up to 7200rpm at the strip, just depends on what cam u pick. check this out to see some stock cam info, altho i already listed alot of it ls1 http://www.smokemup.com/tech/ls1.php lt1 http://www.z28.com/forum/showthread.php?t=58050

sweet thanks. atleast i know a little bit now the white one had a 222/222 581 114+2.. so i'm guessing it was spose to looke like this: 222/222 0.581 114LSA.. but im a lil confused as to what the +2 means. lol
