Hey guys, my friend at school has a ws6 and he is looking to upgrade his stereo. What would you car audio guys recommend that is halfway decently priced as he is not looking at spending too much money. I think the plan right now is to just upgrade the head unit and speakers... Thanks in advance!

I wouldnt go anything less than Alpine. Just my 2 cents. Of course I must ask, how much is decently priced and not alot of money? Clarion is pretty good, a little pricey for my taste though.

Ummm lol I think he only wants around like 120 for head unit... Probably 50-75 a speaker. idk these are just ballpark guesses. I told him Alpine was probably one of the best ways to go, but I have a Kenwood unit in my s10 and it has worked well for me, so I told him that would be good too. I've also heard good things about infinity speakers...

120 for a headunit is kinda low these days. I cant say I know much about Infinity, ive never known anyone with em so Ive never actually heard them.

i would buy a component set for ~200, comes with 2 speakers, and 2 tweeters, then buy a decent alpine HU.

So basically he's just going to have to pony up... I don't think he wants anything to wake up the neighbors and knock pictures off the walls, just something that sounds a little better and goes louder than stock

i personally would go with kenwood HU b/c ive had like three of them and they were all great cd players. but i jus bought a 08 edition of the pioneer premier HU and its pretty badass. i gave a pretty penny for it though to. pioneer has good quality components for a low price.

I have a pioneer h/u in my camaro and I love it. My kenwood has never given me any trouble either. I'll look into the pioneer speakers, thanks
