I had a water pump go bad on my 95' z and while I had it apart thought it would be wise to throw a new opti with msd cap/rotor and wires after I took my old opti off and tried to put the new one on it won't go on it seems to not want to line up or slip all the way into place. I made sure I had the 94-1/2'-97 one and it is correct it looks identicale to my orig. except the cap of course. can somebody please help????? :o(

i think its like 93-94 for the opti l and 95-97 for opti ll, there not the same. look into it. im sure some one else here can verify that for you. sorry, not up on my opti talk

Make sure the pin on the cam that tells the opti when to fire is in to correct position, if it gets moved out too far it can cause problems. You should be able to find out how far out it needs to sit depending on year/opti type from most major cam sights, or google, it's your friend
