i have a unique problem. Since ive repainted my block and put new bolts in i've got a problem with corrosion. Not rust corrosion but white scale. It is forming on bolts that are not zinc coated or stainless. I though maybe a grounding issue, so i checked the block ground and cleaned it again and regrounded. still scale seems to form, almost as if it were on the coast line in the salt air, but i leave 80-90 miles from the nearest coast line. I really didnt want to soak my engine in wd-40 to stop corrosion, Does anybody have any ideas on what to do or what may be causing this problem?

Which bolts are you talking about, and are they bare or painted? It sounds like you're describing a dielectric issue. You can get a build up of corrosion when you attach two dissimilar metals together, where there is a presence of electrolysis (such as internal flowing water), and also where there is a conductive path (ground). For instance, in home plumbing, if you were to attach a copper pipe directly to a galvanized pipe fitting, you will get a white crusty corrosion build-up where the two join. And, the house's plumbing pipes are also used as ground for the incoming power supply. In that case, you need to use a dielectric union which insulates the two from each other. Why you're getting it, I don't know. Is it possibly on your water neck bolts? I would think that using fiber washers as an insulator will most likely alleviate the problem.
