Camaro Overheating? - 4/22/2008 12:09:43 PM    matthew9440   Posts: 6 Score: 0 Joined: 4/22/2008 Status: offline I got a 91 V6 Camaro RS and just recently it started running hot. When it gets to about 220 the fan comes on then it stops a few minutes later.  When you turn on the Bi Levels the fan isn’t kicking on.  IDK what’s wrong but I was thinking maybe a coolant leak cause I just added coolant the other day and it was decreased by half in 3 days. I was just wondering.  Because my dad says the biggest problem I need to worry about is the possibility of a blown head gasket.  I am real worried my baby is really hurting.  Somebody help me out! _____________________________ Post #: 1

Also if you do have a blown head gasket, the only way to find out is to do a compression test and see what it tells you. Btw if you think you have a coolant leak, then check around the radiator to see if you see any green fluid dripping around. If you do, then you do have a coolant leak. This site will you tell about the possible locations for a coolant leak and all you need to know to fix the problem. If you suspect a head gasket is blown causingh your loss of coolant you can remove the radiator cap and start the car and look at the coolant. If there are air bubbles coming out then that would be cylinder gasses pushing through. Or buy a block tester. It is blue liquid and a tube that you put onto the radiator neck and draw air into it. Should I worry about my 91 getting between 220 and roughly 240?
