OK so i am rebuilding a 1980 camaro and at the moment I am looking to find a A/C compressor (the long kind not a pancake one) that is CHROME....
i still have my r-12 system...

should I Change over to a r-134a system?  is it better ? and if so what kind of fabrication (brackets houses condenser etc...) would i need to do and what kind of compressor do i need ? ? ? ?

I have never seen a Fridgidaire unit chromed. But you can contact Old Air Products or Doc's Blocks they may know where to find one. Probably a good idea to change over to R134a. It will be easier to find a place to work on the system. If you go with R134a then get a Sanden style compressor. They are readily available in chrome.
