Anyone else here longing for a Camaro 5th Gen. made of lightweight and strong Carbon Fiber body panels?!

Ah, one can dream...

Anyone heard any more details on the hybrid Camaro? I really like the idea, actually...

That would be pretty cool the Hybrid Tahoe has a 6.0L V8 and gets 20mpg.

a buddy of mine was saying the camaro will never actually see full production. he made a couple interesting points, mostly that the cost of production will cause it to fail when compared to the new mustang.    it is interesting though, that this car is being held so secretive by chevy.  the hype around the 05 mustang was just as big in the ford world, but those guys had a delivery date well in advance.   i wonder why chevy is being so stingy with information

Cause ford at the time didnt have a true competitor as far as afforable sport cars. Now theres Challenger, Camaro and Mustang.

I dont think it was that. I think it was because ford wanted attention and wanted people to order in advance and get ready to trade in what their driving to pick up a new Mustang. by 05 its was the only "muscle" car sports coupe that was pretty affordable and had decent power. Plus they knew the retro look would appeal to people of all ages. They just wanted attention and they got it but now that the Challenger and Camaro are coming out (and i heard they were redesigning the Charger to a coupe.. but that was from an unreliable source) Just like the old days people are going to shell out the few thousand more for a car with more horses a new look and imo a better design.

It is interesting to me that there have been no rumors, speculation, etc. about CF body panels or any other weight saving info on any of the many forums I go to.

My guess is that are being so secretive about it just so Ford and Chrysler (and any other automaker) will not be sure of anything that Chevy decides to put in or not put in. They want no advance warnings going out.
