I have a 400 sbc with flat top pistons and running 350 heads with 1.5 valves. It goes quite good now and have been running on these heads for a few years now. I feel that these heads are holding back the engine and would like to swap them out to a good set of aluminum heads. Everything else is up to par. Large cam, 2800 stall converter,, 390 gears, 750 holley, headers. I had the heads rebuilt 10 years ago ported and polished, spent close to 800 buxs on them back then. It took me a few years to get it all together and running, bought the block for 1500 buxs balanced, 20 over flat top pistons. Right now it is high compression, I have to run on premium or it pings when hot. I would like a set of heads that will bring the compression down a bit to run on regular, but I would like to bring the performance up if possible.
What heads do you guys recommend
thanks

You may already know this, but whichever heads you use, be sure to either get ones specific to the 400 block, or have the steam holes drilled to match the block if you use conventional small block heads. Otherwise you can have overheating problems. Your head gaskets can be used as a template.
