i have a 98 camaro ls1. I just ordered my midtubes through Pacesetter... I wanted to go long tubes .. but the car is lowered ...so due to clerance i can't put long tubes... anywayz... Do i need to buy a Y-pipe w/ these midtube headers? or can i bolt on directly? Last question is if i buy a aftermarket Y-pipe will it give me more power? any suggest it would help:) thanks

my car is lowered quite a bit and i have LT's.   no problem.

anyways, if the site u ordered from doesnt list a corresponding ypipe then chances are they are the same flange to flange dimensions as your manifolds.    do u have a link to the part u ordered?

with the painted you may have to replace them after a couple years.   they will rust out pretty quickly.   i couldnt see anything about needing a midpipe, but i would recommend it anyways.   you are choking the headers if you keep the stock ypipe on there.   a 2.5" high flow or 3" would be way better.

Any type of paint will burn off and they will rust from the inside also.
