I was wondering if it was possible to switch over the 96 RS body kit to a 96 Z-28... (Anything is possible I know but was wondering if it would be a pain and not worth it) I wanted to switch over the body kit to a 96 Z-28 because I have never found a 96 RS with a V8 and not sure if they came out with a V8 for the RS (New to the 4th generation camaros, stuck with 3rd generation for a while).

So I was wondering about the following:
1. If it was possible to transfer the body kit off the 96 RS to the 96 Z-28 and won't be too hard.
2. If they ever came out with a V8 engine that came with the 96 RS
3. Does the V6 in the 96 RS have more problems then the V8 in
the  96  Z-28... or if they did come out with a V8 in the RS, the V8 in the RS.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post, please awnser my questions if you know about the questions I have, or yourself have changed the 96 RS body kit over to the 96 Z-28.

They never made an RS with a V8 and you'd have to do some body work (drilling hoes) they sell the body kit online at RKSport.com

I checked out that site, and saw pictures of the body kit that they sell for the camaro.  If it is the one in the pictures, then it is not the exact same one...  It does not have the same openings on the front bumper piece, it has the side ones, but has no middle opening.  I am trying to look for an exact match.

If you see this post again, you have the same exact car that I was looking to purchase, I wanted to know exactly when you purchased it, how many miles, and how much if you could provide that... If you could that would be great.

Thanks for telling me that they did not make a 96 RS with a V8, I was almost positive they did not, that is why my main reason I wanted to get a Z-28 and put the RS body kit on it.  So if anyone has anymore information on this topic, feel free to post it and give me an update.  Thanks for reading again, have a nice night everyone I am headed to bed.

Yeah you got a lucky find, that is the exact type of car that I am currently looking for right now before I head off to college.  I wanted a 1996 white RS camaro with black rally stripes down the middle.  I am glad to hear that you found one, if you come across another steal on a 96 RS or Z-28 you should private message me... Going to be a while before I find one, I currently have till September/October to find one.  I start in October, so that gives me enough time I hope to find a good deal on one.

Thanks for posting the information on your car, hope to keep in touch if you find another.

They did make a V8 RS SS, saw one sell on barret jackson, and it was completely factory, numbers matching, 6,000 miles. I'm not sure about the year though, I think it was the later body style, 98-02 ish.

The rs kit is nice, but I hear that it cracks easy, look for a urathane ground effects kit, the urathane ones are flexible, and won't crack.

i jsut went out and looked at the rksport.com and that kit they have looks really nice....id go for it if you are wanting to do that....urethane is so much better than fiberglass, fiberglass is a pain to work with and doesn't always fit right
