Hi everbody, new to the forums looking for some help! I just bought an 87 IROC Z with a 305 TPI and it runs like ****. I got a code 41 in it. Took the distributor off had a bad pick up coil, replaced helped a little but code 41 remains and it runs real rich. New cap, rotor, and plugs no better. Code 41 is cylinder select error, bad prom or ecm according to manual. The prom is a hypertech ecm is a reman. Help please!

Have you asked this in the tech sections. The only people that come to this section, other than we mods, are those with 'web site' related problems. I dont think you will get much assistance here. Try general tech or 3rd gen. If your prom is shot you will need a new one, now would be a time to think about upgrading the chip - since that is whats wrong. I cant find anything for a 'code 41' btw.
